Derek Tamm is the Managing Director of the The Columns Resource Group, located in Saint Cloud, MN . He began his career in college, through  The Northwestern Mutual Financial Network´s Internship Program. The experience of the internship gave Derek a great appreciation for Northwestern Mutual as a company and the quality of products and services Northwestern Mutual has to offer. Derek graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, majoring in Economics.

In September 2007, after five successful years as a Financial Representative and Field Director with the Columns Resource Group, he was appointed as the Managing Director of the District Network Office in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

As Managing Director, Derek works with Financial Representatives in the St. Cloud District Network Office to develop their skills, fuel a passion for their work, and improve client service. He leads by example, holding himself, the representatives, and staff accountable to the Columns Resource Group Core Values. We believe these core values represent who we are and what we will continuously strive to be. Not only are they our core values, they are our mantra and our commitment to our clients and colleagues.

Derek is native to Albany, Minnesota and enjoys spending time with his friends and family. Derek likes to golf, although not well, hunt, fish and spend time on the area lakes in the summer. Derek is a member of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce, Westside SERTOMA, the Miracle League of Central Minnesota, and a 2008 member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Derek is married to Melinda and resides in St. Cloud.
